Frequently asked questions
What is TraceFlow Chain?
TraceFlow Chain is batch traceability and food safety management software (ISO 22000, HACCP) for food manufacturers, agricultural cooperatives and producers. It follows every batch from raw material reception to the delivered customer, and manages production, quality control, GS1 packaging, shipments, product recalls and all quality documentation. It works without an Internet connection (local-first), on Windows, macOS, Linux and Android, in English, French, Portuguese and Arabic. It is published by TraceFlow Labs (Cotonou, Benin).
Does TraceFlow Chain work without Internet?
Yes. The software is local-first: data is stored on the computer (and on phones on the same network) and everything works offline. The Cloud plans automatically sync several workstations and the mobile app when the network comes back.
Which devices does it run on?
Windows 10 and 11 (Microsoft Store), macOS (Intel and Apple Silicon), Linux (APT repository with automatic updates, Snap Store, AppImage, .deb) and Android.
Which sectors is it for?
Food manufacturers, agricultural cooperatives, exporters and producers: Cereals, rice and flour, Milk and dairy products, Meat, poultry and cured meats, Fish and seafood, Beverages, juices and water, Bakery, pastry and biscuits, Fruit and vegetables, Cocoa, coffee and tea, Oils and fats, Spices, condiments and sauces, and more. Sector profiles adapt the hazards, analyses, co-products and documents offered.
Does it help prepare an ISO 22000 or HACCP audit?
Yes: ready-to-use HACCP plans, procedures and records, forward and backward traceability, timed mock recalls, internal audits and management review. Standards covered: ISO 22000, HACCP (Codex Alimentarius), ISO 9001, FSSC 22000 requirements, GMP ISO 22716 for cosmetics, GS1 coding, readiness for the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). The software helps you prepare for certification; it does not issue it.
How does a product recall work?
Enter or scan any code (batch, pallet, delivery note, complaint). The software shows the source materials, the batches produced, the customers delivered and the quantities still in stock, then generates the recall file.
How does it handle downgraded products and by-products?
A batch (or part of it) can be destroyed with a signed report, or downgraded for unbranded sale, animal feed or bedding: a linked batch is created and the intended use is printed on the delivery note. By-products (bran, husks, shells…) are put into stock as traceable batches.
How much does TraceFlow Chain cost?
Download and the trial version are free. Paid plans: Startup PME, Pro Cloud, Enterprise, monthly or yearly, by card or Mobile Money (WAEMU zone). Current prices at https://traceflowchain.traceflowlabs.com/en/pricing.
Can I connect Claude or ChatGPT to TraceFlow Chain?

On the computer (all plans), install the Claude Desktop extension from Settings › AI assistants. Reading and changing data are two separate permissions, revocable at any time.
